So I am so excited for each and every single person listening to this episode, because this episode is going to help you achieve your money goals.
And this is exactly why we build wealth is we want to set our goals so that we can achieve the goals so that we can have a life that we want. We can have that freedom of life that we want. And this is the power that we have with our money, because if we decide we make a decision today in 2024, the first day of 2024, or some point in time in January here, we make this decision that we are going to have the best year yet with our money.
It is a choice and is a choice that you can make. And I'm going to show you exactly how to set goals today. And I'm going to show you exactly how to achieve goals as well. Now this is coming from somebody, me, and that was in my early 20s, making 30, 000 per year and living paycheck to paycheck. But I decided at one point in time, I was going to make a change.
I was going to change my financial future so that I could build wealth, so I could have freedom with my time and energy, and I could spend time with my future children and my future wife, and be able to have all this time. And then by the age of 32, I became a millionaire. So I started out making 30, 000 per year.
I became a millionaire by the age of 32. And I attribute all of this to setting goals. So that is how powerful this is going to be today. And what you are learning today is going to take you to that next level. Now, here's a big thing that I want you to understand. Now I say setting goals, but there was an entire system that you need to understand when you set goals, because just setting goals is for suckers and systems are for winners.
You have to have some sort of system in place in order to actually achieve these goals. What a lot of people do is they go out there and they just write down their goals. And a couple of weeks later, they just. Hey, I'm going to try to achieve these goals and then they have no system in place and you never achieve those goals because you're just writing it down on a piece of paper or you just have them in your head and you have no system in place to actually go out day in and day out and make progress on these goals and by doing something like that, just thinking, Hey, Hey, Here's my goals for the year.
Maybe you write them down. Maybe you just keep them in a little notepad. Maybe you keep them on your phone. All of those things is just a first step, but once you start to do that, if you don't have that system in place, that's just like having a wish you are wishing and hoping that you're actually going to achieve those goals instead of actually having the actions in place in order to achieve those goals.
So what I'm going to show you is a system on exactly how to do that. Now, when we started master money, we started master money to teach you how to master money, to teach you how to master money, and it all starts with goals. You have to have that vision in front of you. You have to have that North star, so to say, in order to be able to achieve these goals, because if you don't have that North star and you're not taking those actions towards that, you will never, ever be able to do this.
Now, the statistics for goal setting out there do not lie. Only 3 percent of the population. Actually set goals with only 1 percent actually writing their goals down. But according to goal setting statistics, if you write down your goals, you are 42 percent more likely to achieve your goals. How powerful is that?
Just by writing down your goals, you are 42 percent more likely to achieve them. And people who have time bound goals, meaning their goals need to be achieved by a certain date. And they have weekly progress reporting, meaning they're checking in on themselves to make sure they're making progress, are 40 percent more likely to achieve their goals than folks who are not.
And there's a bunch of other research out there that making your goals challenging, it's almost like setting your goals to be slightly uncomfortable, means that you will actually achieve that goal and you are much more likely to achieve that goal than into something that is way too easy or way too difficult.
And I'm going to show you exactly today how to set those goals and set up those parameters so that you can set achievable goals. Another crazy statistic is only 3 percent of people out there actually make written objectives with precise methods to reach their goals. And this is one thing that I cannot believe most other people do not do, but people just write down their goals and only 3 percent of people actually create these systems in order to achieve those goals.
And here's the craziest one. And this is the one that I do not want you to be. One of these statistics is 35 percent of individuals who start new year's resolutions, abandon them within one week, 35 percent abandon them within one week. This is something I do not want to see for. listening to this podcast episode, because we're going to show you exactly how to do this.
Now, coming up on January 2nd, we have a workshop called master your money goals, and in this workshop, we are going to teach you my exact system. We're going to give you actually nine plus video lessons on how to achieve your money goals this year. This year, how you can achieve those money goals. We're going to give you nine different lessons to show my exact system and what I did in order to go from being a broke paycheck to paycheck person, all the way to becoming a millionaire in my early thirties, I'm going to show you the exact system, and this is what I do every single year right now.
We're also going to give you a worksheet to help you map out what your goals are. So that you can visualize what your dream life is and what you want this money to do overall. And you're also going to be able to narrow down what your money goals are with this worksheet. If you're confused, like, I don't know what money goals I need.
My money is all over the place. I have no idea what I'm doing with this. We're going to give you a bunch of different money goal ideas, and I'm going to give you the order. I think you should have your money goals if you're just starting out. So all of these are going to be inside of this workshop. I'm also going to give you a spreadsheet and it's also going to include.
Our different goal setting systems, and it's going to have a goal score card in there so that you can check in on yourself and you're going to see how important that is in this episode today to have that goal score card, but we're going to make sure you have that goal score card available so that you can check your progress every single week.
And it also has our time blocking system and our system to manage your calendar so that you can be most efficient and every single day. You can become productive towards those money goals. And we are going to be adding so much more to this over time. So really, really hope that you guys will check out, uh, master your money goals.
It is going to be linked down in the show notes below, or you can go to master money. co slash courses as well. And this workshop, I promise you is going to give you the system that will get you results. This is a results based system. And obviously if you go in there. And you take this workshop, we give you a hundred percent of your money back.
If you don't like it, I promise you, you will love this workshop because this is something that absolutely changed my life. Once I put together this system and I know it will change yours as well in 2024. Now this is only going to be available in January this year. Then it's going to be gone all the way up until next year.
So you can only get this early on in the year. Uh, so make sure that you sign up now so that you can start to master those money goals. Super, super important to be able to do so. So if you're interested in that, make sure you check out the link down below. It launches January 2nd. And so we want to make sure that you have that.
Now let's get into how we can help you set some of those money goals in 2024. All right. So the first thing that you need to do is you need to finally get clear on exactly what you want to achieve. Now you cannot achieve all of your money goals. All at one time. So we got to figure out what exactly do you want to achieve?
Now, some of you, I have talked to some of you in the past and you have lists of goals that you want to achieve. And the way to do this is to think through, Hey, I have multiple savings goals all at the same time. And so what I need to do is prioritize some of these financial and or savings goals so that I know which one is most important to me.
So say for example, you want to go out there and you want to say for a brand new car, you want to make sure that you are contributing to your retirement account, you want to start a Roth IRA. And you want to make sure that you fund out your emergency fund. Well, you got to figure out which one is the most important aspect in your current financial situation.
And then prioritize those from greatest to least, because you can only do so many goals at one time. You only have so much income coming in. So that extra income that you have available. Can only go in so many various places. So to achieve some of these money goals, you got to knock out the main ones first and then move on from there.
Now you can sometimes think of this, even how we think of the debt snowball, for example, where the debt snowball, you are paying off your lowest debts first, then moving down to some of the bigger ones, you can sometimes achieve some goals really quickly. If you have some goals, say, for example, you want to.
Save for a cash buffer really quick. So you want three, four, 5, 000 in a cash buffer, whereas your second goal is to save 70, 000 for a down payment on a home. Well, you can go boom, hit that cash buffer first. So that you have that available to you. And then you can go out and maybe save for that family car for that family home or whatever else the other big savings goals are.
So sometimes it's helpful to start with those quick wins. Then you can go to some of the bigger ones. Now. Overall, I always have my goals prioritized on which financial goals I want to achieve first. And you can do this with a goal prioritization list. We have one coming in the workshop that you can check out.
If you go into the workshop, we're gonna have a goal priority list and show you exactly how you can prioritize those from greatest to least. So this is one where it is definitely something you need to do upfront. And then you, when you get clear, you gotta ask yourself a bunch of different questions. Now we have these questions in our worksheets, but when you go through these questions, you wanna ask things like.
Hey, first of all, we're just going to think big here. What is my dream life look like? What is the life that I want to live look like? Because the purpose of setting these money goals is actually create freedom in your life. It's to create that freedom so that you can do what you want day in and day out.
That is why we build wealth, isn't it? We build wealth so that we can have our time back. We can buy back our time by investing our dollars and putting them towards the things that actually bring us value so that we can have freedom with. Our money, this helps us reduce stress. It helps us reduce anxiety and we know exactly what we need to do with our dollars.
Imagine if you had clarity with your money, how long have you been running around all over the place and you've been stressed out with your money and you have no idea what to prioritize. Money goals, solve that problem. And you can. Absolutely change your entire life by setting these money goals. And so this is why this is so important to do is to get clarity on all this stuff.
So let me challenge you today is to think about this today. How am I going to get clear on my money goals? And so it starts with asking what that dream life looks like. Then I want you to identify what actually truly brings you value. What brings you value day in and day out? What do you actually want your money to do this year?
And then when you're going through this year, then you're going to think about what do I want my money to do this quarter or what do I need my money to do this month? Or what do I need it to do today in order to achieve some of these goals? Think about this for a second. What do you love spending money on for me?
Your boy love spending money on a couple of different things. I love pickleball. I love playing golf. I love spending time with my family. We just took a trip to Disney. We love taking vacations. I All of these are really, really important to me. So I want to spend more money on this stuff. I'm not trying to cut back on the stuff that I love.
I want to spend more money. I want to make it rain on the things that bring me value. So what do you love spending money on? Think about that and how can you spend more on that stuff? Now, what do you find unnecessary? If you find a bunch of different expenses unnecessary, how can you cut some of those out?
Can you go through your subscriptions that you really don't use or you don't care about? Can you cut some of that out and put it towards the things that you love? Can you go through some of your bills and are there bills out there that you're spending too much on? You know you're spending too much on it.
You don't even utilize it. Well, can you cut some of that stuff out? Really, really important stuff to nail down here because then you can start to create and craft this list that will allow you to Order your goals from greatest to least. And I think this is going to be something that really will help you, uh, change your life overall.
And then just thinking about your longer term goals. What are your three year goals? What are your 10 year goals? What are your 20 year goals? And when you take those goals, we're going to nail them down into smaller, definable chunks. And then doing things like identifying your perfectly productive day.
So what I do every single month is I go in there and this is not like a, something that a routine, this is something I need to do in order to get organized in my life. So I will go into my schedule and I say, Hey, everything is getting out of control. What do I need to do to have the perfectly productive day in my day and Order to also spend time with my family, make sure I get my exercise and my workouts in prioritizing my health.
How do I do all of these things in one day? And then I go out and I will take out my time blocking worksheet, which is going to be in the workshop. I'm going to give it to you and I'm going to go through there and I'm going to put, here's what my perfect day is. And I go through this exercise and our worksheets will actually show you how to do this in the workshop, but I go through this exercise.
And what is my perfectly productive day? And I will start all the way at 5 a. m. Do I want to wake up at 5 a. m.? Probably not because I'll be tired the rest of the day. So do I want to pick at 6 a. m.? Yeah, I think that's a good time to wake up. Then I'll go through the entire day all the way until I go to bed.
And I'll say, this is a perfectly productive day. Now, how do I make this happen every single day? And so this is going to help you tremendously with goal setting as we get into some of these other areas, which you will see as we go through this. And then you want to make sure you have that work life balance and go through that process.
Now in our worksheets, we have a ton of other questions that I want you to kind of go through and answer. So if you take this workshop, this is something where we will have all of these listed out for you so that you can do that. So step one is to really figure out and get clear on exactly what you want.
One of the most important steps, because then we're going to start to take action on this stuff. So let's get to step two. So step two is we are going to set specific goals. What you need to do is you need to figure out, Hey, okay, I have this goal this year. I want to have 12, 000 in my emergency fund by the end of the year.
Well, you need to figure out what you need to do each time you get paid in order to achieve that goal. So if you want to have 12, 000 in your emergency fund by the end of the year, well, every single quarter, you're gonna have to save 3, 000. And every single month, you're going to have to save 1, 000. And you can break this down by bi weekly.
So you can figure out, Hey, bi weekly, I need to save that 500 bucks or whatever. It's going to come out to you so that you can figure out exactly what you need to be allocating towards that goal. Then don't want you to automate it. When it comes to money goals, we want to automate these things. This is going to make it so much easier for us because we remove our willpower from the equation.
So if we automate this process, then we don't have to worry about some of this stuff. Now, when it comes to setting goals, I tell you in the workshop, kind of going through how many money goals you should be setting at a single time, because it's really difficult to kind of set all these different things, but then you should also have another goal in an area that you're really interested in.
So that you're not only just hammering on money goals, you're living a well balanced life. And so that's what we want for you overall is to live that well balanced life. Then. You're going to reflect on this every single week. So you're going to make these specific goals. And we like setting smart goals here, but you're going to make these specific, these measurable goals that you're going to be able to figure out.
Hey, I need to take action every single week. Then you're going to develop an action plan and have this action plan ready so that you know exactly what you need to do. Now, after you do this, step three is developing those action plans. So what do I need to do every single day? Or what do I need to do each time I get?
Paid in order to make sure that this happens. Well, I need to log into my checking account and I need to check, Hey, how much money do I have here? And then if my savings goal is 500 every two weeks, then I need to automate that into my high yield savings account, for example. So you go into your high yield savings account, you go in there and you check off, I'm going to automate 500 every two weeks, maybe it's on the first and the 15th, for example.
And then you're going to go in there and set up those automations so that you are able to achieve that simple goal. Now for other financial goals, it may be something different. Maybe you want to budget every single day this year. So you're going to go in every single day and you're going to allocate a time.
Hey, maybe I need to allocate some time for budgeting every single day so that I can stay on top of my money. Uh, maybe you're doing something like the 75 day challenge. And if you're doing something like that, figuring out when you're going to do that and setting those goals up is going to be really, really important.
Then what we're going to do is we're going to keep score. So we're going to set up a scorecard in the workshop. I give you the exact scorecard that I use, but we're going to set up a scorecard and I'm going to give you a bunch of tips in that workshop to teach you exactly how to do that. So keeping score is really important.
Every Sunday night, I like to go through all of my stuff and make sure I am on track with my goals. Uh, so we call the Sunday evening routine. And so that is a great time to do it. You could do it Monday morning. You could do it on, you know, whatever day of the week. Works for you, but making sure that you're keeping score and tracking your progress is really, really important.
Then we got to figure out how are we going to fit this stuff into our schedule. So we've got all the actions that we need to take. We've got a scorecard available so that we can track that. We're actually taking action. Where are we going to fit this in our schedule? So we kind of went through, Hey, what is our perfectly productive day now?
How do I. Put this into my schedule and whatever you use, you can use a checklist. You can use time blocking. There's so many different options out there. I show you the exact calendar and the system that I use in the workshop. But you can use whatever works best for you and figuring out exactly how you're going to do this, and that is really, really important as you have this.
So you have this scorecard you are. Putting this into your calendar and figuring out exactly where you're going to take these actions. And then we're going to do weekly reviews. So we said, you know, you do them Sunday. You could do a Monday. I like to do them Sunday nights. Most people I know who have taken on my system and followed my system.
They do them Sunday nights as well. It's just an easy time where you don't have a ton going on and you can really hit the ground running on come Monday morning. It takes you about 15 minutes to go through those questions and make sure that you're on track. Now here's another key one. Because I think overall, a lot of you, one of the biggest problems that we all have is we don't have enough accountability in our life when it comes to these goals.
So I want you to find someone who can become your accountability partner. So maybe you do this with someone else. Maybe it's a boyfriend, girlfriend, maybe it's a spouse, maybe it's somebody in your life. Who can be your accountability partner? Maybe it's your friend who also has goals and it doesn't even have to be the same goals.
You can say, Hey, I got these money goals. You have these fitness goals. Let's keep each other accountable. Maybe during your weekly accountability, you meet up once a week, go have coffee and you become accountable together. Or maybe you just jump on a phone call and you become accountable together. I have started doing this a lot more.
In fact, Here's a great example. Doug Cunnington and I, Doug Cunnington has a great podcast called The Doug Show, and he has another show called Mile Hi Fi. We meet every single month to be accountable for a bunch of various different things. And so this is something that could be really, really helpful for a lot of people finding out your accountability schedule.
So it doesn't even have to be every single week. It could be like how Doug and I do it every single month. But if it's your close friend or if it's a spouse, it's easy to do it every single week. Then You got to stay motivated, so you got to make sure that you set up your environment so that you can maintain motivation.
And there's a great book by James Clear called Atomic Habits that kind of shows you how to set up your environment in this workshop. I'm going to show you how to set up your environment the ways that I utilize, and a lot of this is inspired by this book, because I think it's one of those things that you really, really need to make sure that you have available to you, and you got to make sure that you are overcoming obstacles, and you have systems in place to overcome those obstacles, and you are maintaining focus and having that focus is very, very important when it comes to setting goals.
Because if you start to go off track or you start to do other things that are not helping you with your goals, it's going to be really, really hard to actually achieve those goals. So there are so many different ways to achieve goals. This is the system I know works. This is one that I know I've been doing for a very long time.
So if you follow these steps, you can go out there and do it yourself, but I would love to have you in our workshop as well because our workshop is going to dive deep into each of these steps and I'm going to give you. All my systems. I am pulling back the curtain and giving you all of my systems that I have in order to achieve your money goals in 2024.
It is the way to build millions and millions of dollars of wealth over time by increasing your income by reducing the amount that you're spending on things that do not bring you value. Then all of a sudden you have this gap between your income. And you're spending and you can take that gap and put it towards your freedom and your wealth building ability.
And this is the power that you have in 2024. You can change the trajectory of your entire family's life and build generational wealth by making one choice to actually set goals and put a system in place in order to do so. If you've been struggling with achieving your financial goals for years, maybe you've been listening to this podcast and you still haven't achieved a lot of your financial goals.
Now is the time to do this in 2024 is the year that will change your life. If you make the decision to do so, I am so incredibly excited to see what you all achieve by doing this goal system, because setting goals. Is the way I'm telling you, it's the way, but goals are for suckers. Goals alone are for suckers.
Setting the systems behind your goals is for winners. And that is exactly what we want to show you how to do this year. Really, really excited for you to check it out again. It's called master your money goals. And in master your money goals, we're going to give you so much great information on exactly how you can achieve your goals in 2024.
So make sure you check out the link down below and get more information on master your buddy goals. And we hope to see you in that workshop. Andrew is positive, engaging, and straightforward. As someone who saw little light at the end of the tunnel, due to poor saving/spending habits, I believed I would be entirely too dependent on Social Security. Andrew shows how it’s possible to secure financial freedom, even if you’ve wasted the opportunities presented in your youth. Listened daily on drives too and from work and got through 93 episodes in theee weeks.
This podcast has been exactly what I have been looking for. Not only does it solidify some of my current practices but helps me to understand the why and the ins-and-outs to what does work and what doesn’t work! Easy to listen to and Andrew does a great job and putting everything in context that is applicable to everyone.
Excellent content, practical, straight to the point, easy to follow and easy to apply! Andrew takes the confusion, complexity and fear as a result (often the biggest deterrent for most folks) out of investing and overall money matters in general, and provides valuable advice that anyone can follow and put into practice. Exactly what I’ve been looking for for quite some time and so happy that I came across this podcast. Thank you, Andrew!
